Brunswick Mallet Sports Club

About

Crqquet is a skilled and fun game involving hitting balls through a series of hoops with a mallet. It has a long history, enjoying very wide popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and has now developed into several variations and rule sets.  At BMSC we play all the major codes except the American one.

The Brunswick Croquet Club was established in 1911 and first installed floodlights in 1922. Its rich past is visible on the trophy boards and photos in the heritage listed clubhouse.  Nowadays it has a strong and active membership and is has a number of projects underway to improve and enhance the facilities.  In 2022 the lights are being upgraded to energy-efficient LEDs with the help of a grant from the Moreland Council.

Each week, we have allocated times where our members get together to play Association Croquet, Golf Croquet or Gateball on a social level.  Social play provides a great opportunity for new members to meet others and to learn the game without the focus of competition.  We also provide coaching in all forms of croquet.  Many of our players compete in local and national tournaments and the club also runs tournaments for both members and open entry.

You can book and play at other times with either other members or your invited guests—family or friends. We ask that guests pay a $5 green fee for each play session. (First session free for Moreland City Council residents).
