Who We Are

Welcome to the Boroughcoutas

We are an adult swimming club affiliated with Masters Swimming Australia, a national body established for many years to cater for swimmers 18 years and over, under the motto of “fitness, friendship & fun”. We currently have around 45 members aged up to 80 years, from Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and surrounds.

Our club was founded in 1991 by a group of adult swimmers from the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, under the leadership of Barry ( Doc) Eastoe, who had been a member of Powerpoints Masters Swimming Club in Melbourne before moving to Pt Lonsdale.

Some members regularly compete in Masters short and long course meets,
and in the many ocean water swims on offer over summer.

Our training is under Sue Gook, an accredited Aussie Masters Swimming Coach:

From November through to March, members and friends also swim on
Friday nights and Sunday Mornings at Pt Lonsdale.

On the Australia Day weekend, each year since 1993 we run the Queenscliff Blue Water Challenge, an open water swim catering for around 550 swimmers of all age groups. This swim helps us raise funds not only to run our club, but to support our sponsorship program for junior swimmers in the local area.
